The beauty around us...

Swallowtail Butterflies drive me nuts.  They just flutter through the yard on their way to somewhere more important.  Not today.  Today one was a camera hog and hung around for a photo shoot.  I really had fun following him around the yard.

Despite the heat and thanks to my husbands routine watering schedule the rose bed is an absolute riot of color.

These clouds didn't provide rain, but did give us a spectacular sunset.

One of my favorite quotes is by Rabindranath Tagore..."Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky."  I have found it to be so true.  I hope everyone is enjoying their sunset skies.

  1. Swallowtails tease me the same way. I have plenty of flowers that I think will entice them, but they never stay. Kudos on the great shots.

  2. Swallowtails are gorgeous - we don't have them here. You certainly have extremes of weather don't you?

  4. The flowers are just incredible. I never thought about it but Swallowtails do just what you described.
The clouds are so pretty. We are just getting clouds and no rain too. Have a lovely week.

  5. Love all your flower assortments. My daughter saw a swallowtail laying eggs so she gathered them up with plant material and waited for the eggs to hatch. Now granddaughter has the caterpillars to watch grow. They will release the butterfly once it appears.

Are you off work during the summer or do you do summer school?

  6. Beautiful post. Your flower gardens are lovely and the swallowtail adds to the beauty. That white rose with pink tips is gorgeous. What kind is it? Is it hardy?
