Get it done...

This weekend I got a lot done; I made bread and finished my table runner.  I made my Mom's overnight rolls, which doesn't happen overnight.  It takes me all day.  The house smelled like fresh bread for two days.  I wish I could share the smell and the sweet bread taste.

I'm happy with the table runner.  There is one thing I can't figure out.  I started this table runner a year ago.  I've done queen sized quilts in one year and yet it took me a year to finish this little thing.  I should have been able to finish the whole thing in one weekend.  I guess I'm a one sewing project a year person.  I am glad that I cannot make myself start a new project, until I finish the one I'm on.   I have to have closure.

It was a productive three day weekend.  I hope everyone else got as much done as I did.

  1. Bonnie, I wish I had your philosophy to have closure on a project. I usually have about a dozen going...all at once. What's worse, is that I still have 3 to finish that were Christmas presents. Your table runner is beautiful and a piece of art.
I can just smell that bread cooking; with our snowy days, I've done a lot of baking and love that aroma.

  6. There is nothing so satisfying then when you see the work of your own hand..whether it be bread or a project. I is a simple joy. I know what you mean about the smell of the bread....I love it when the house has that aroma...and wafts around...so comforting. the rolls look good, need a test taster?

Love the runner - it looks smashing on your table. Well done you. May I ask what the project is for this year.

  8. Just catching up on your blog. You have been busy. Those homemade rolls look so good! My mom used to bake bread when we were younger and nothing tastes or smells as good.
I love that you're trying to gain weight this year :) We've been snowed in for days and today baked cookies. I think I gained several pounds just today.

  11. I hear you on the unfinished projects. That's why I haven't started any this year and I don't think I'm going to! So there! :)

Do you freeze your baked rolls? Or do you eat them in one sitting?
