This weekend I got a lot done; I made bread and finished my table runner. I made my Mom's overnight rolls, which doesn't happen overnight. It takes me all day. The house smelled like fresh bread for two days. I wish I could share the smell and the sweet bread taste.
I'm happy with the table runner. There is one thing I can't figure out. I started this table runner a year ago. I've done queen sized quilts in one year and yet it took me a year to finish this little thing. I should have been able to finish the whole thing in one weekend. I guess I'm a one sewing project a year person. I am glad that I cannot make myself start a new project, until I finish the one I'm on. I have to have closure.
It was a productive three day weekend. I hope everyone else got as much done as I did.
Bonnie, I wish I had your philosophy to have closure on a project. I usually have about a dozen going...all at once. What's worse, is that I still have 3 to finish that were Christmas presents. Your table runner is beautiful and a piece of art.
ReplyDeleteI can just smell that bread cooking; with our snowy days, I've done a lot of baking and love that aroma.
wow! that's a beautiful amount of dough!
ReplyDeleteYour runner is amazing, love the colors :)
You were productive! That bread just looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love how high the dough rose! That is awesome. It is always so gratifying to see yeast do exactly what it's supposed to do. Your rolls look heavenly!! By the way, your table runner is beautiful! You did an excellent job! Also, I love your kitchen, what I can see of it,...I love the color of the wood and the color of the walls!
ReplyDeleteThose rolls look awesomely tasty. I could give you my mail address so you could send several of them to us. Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing so satisfying then when you see the work of your own hand..whether it be bread or a project. I is a simple joy. I know what you mean about the smell of the bread....I love it when the house has that aroma...and wafts around...so comforting. the rolls look good, need a test taster?
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely puts my bread to shame.
ReplyDeleteLove the runner - it looks smashing on your table. Well done you. May I ask what the project is for this year.
Take care

Just catching up on your blog. You have been busy. Those homemade rolls look so good! My mom used to bake bread when we were younger and nothing tastes or smells as good.
ReplyDeleteI love that you're trying to gain weight this year :) We've been snowed in for days and today baked cookies. I think I gained several pounds just today.
That is a beautiful runner so worth the wait. Oh that bread rising is making my mouth water and my sense of smell jealous. Enjoy I just am going to dream I am sharing it with you. B
ReplyDeleteYour rolls are beautiful as is the runner! I admire you for not starting another project--I am that way as well and it really does give you a sense of accomplishment when you finish the project, no matter how long it took you!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you've enjoyed your day--Stay warm! :-)
I hear you on the unfinished projects. That's why I haven't started any this year and I don't think I'm going to! So there! :)
