We are in business...

My husband made two more shelves today.  One is of course rustic cabin style and the other is country.  He is having fun.

Meanwhile, I am in the process of making pear wine and just bottled up some rhubarb.  I really like my Rowdy Rhubarb.  That $35 wine making kit from Midwest Supply was a good investment.  I have really enjoyed the results and I like that it is low pressure hobby.  If I want to mess around with it I do, if I don't have time then it can just sit longer.  So far I've made wine using:  Service Berries, Buffalo Berries, Raspberries, Rhubarb, Grapes, and Chokecherries.  This is the first time I have bought fruit for wine making.  We thought we would try pears.  I thought it would be a complicated process, but it is simple and the results are worth the effort.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  February is here.  Four more months to spring:)

  1. What great shelves! Those antlers look really good on them.
The wine making sounds really fun! I don't think I've tried wine made from anything other than grapes.

  2. The shelves are great. I've been making wine for a couple of years now, and I have to saw that the apple based wines are my favorite. You really should try them for making some wine.

  3. Those shelves are awesome and it sounds like you are thoroughly enjoying that wine making. I'm glad Spring is nearly here; we've actually been hearing the little frogs sing u a storm for a little over a week now so for us perhaps Spring is just around the corner here in SC. We went on a lovely walk yesterday and saw many signs of an early Spring. And we even worked a bit in our raised bed garden.

  5. I love those little shelves, especially the one with the antler. Rhubarb wine sounds interesting. I've never had wine made from anything except grapes either.
