Finally flowers...

It has warmed up and I have been busy.  On Friday I unleashed the roses, planted the inside, and outside of the greenhouse.  It felt good to get my hands in the soil.
 Freshly planted with corn, cucumbers, spinach, lettuce, carrots, and beans.
 It looks like we will be eating asparagus soon.
 The greenhouse looks pretty in the sun.

 I put my invasive herbs in the washtub both the mint and chamomile.
 The tomatoes made it to spring and I was happy to move them to the greenhouse.
 I always think of the following poem when I see daffodils.
 I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
by William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee;
A poet could not be but gay,
In such a jocund company!
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Happy Mother's Day!

  2. Finally you got some warm. I was waiting for another snow, yuck.I have been busy getting stuff in, but not busy enough. Play time always beacons, especially with a half dozen boxes of worms in the fridge.A real tomato will be nice, I have 14 varieties.

  5. Seeing the photo of your asparagus makes me think of my patch in Connecticut! I should plant some more; we loved harvesting it.
