Autumn Amblings...

Autumn is my favorite time of the year.  The smell of the earth, the rustling of leaves, and the vivid colors.  I spent the day decorating the porch.  Things were moved 100 times before I was  satisfied.  Now I'm sitting with a glass of Rowdy Rhubarb wine, Ella at my feet, and we are enjoying the evening.  My life always seems to be traveling at full tilt, so I truly appreciate a few quiet minutes on the porch, just enjoying nature's artwork.  Ok, except for that dang mosquito.

I wish I could add the smells of fall, the rustling of the aspen leaves, and you could taste the wine.  Hope you are enjoying autumn as much as I am.

  3. Your blog header is beautiful. That must be your home. The bright gold trees are so beautiful. Everything is still green here, which is nice since we have not had a lot of rain. We are making up for it today though. Blessings.

  6. I am enjoying autumn, but I sure wish it would rain. I love your cute little bears toasting marshmallows. Your log swing looks like fun, I love garden swings, I wish I had one. That chair by the chiminea looks very pleasant too.

  8. These are all so evocative of a season that is so melancholy (for me). As much as I love the bright hues, crackling leaves, and fragrances, I miss the light. Hoping for a day without rain soon to get out and enjoy the colors from somewhere other the car windows.

  14. Autumn was a complete brat this year: rainstorms gave way to snow. We usually enjoy cold but clear afternoons and golden leaves falling. Alas. I didn't even get the garden hose put away in time. It sits trapped under three inches of crusty snow and ice. Here's hoping we get a few warmer days to get the garden put to bed a little less abruptly....

  16. Your trees are lovely in autumn; all gold and yellow. It would be so lovely to be out there for a walk or enjoy some rocking on the swing.

  17. I love autumn too. One of the shade trees in our yard is completely bare now and the others aren't far behind. With the winds we are expecting, we might be bare by the end of the week. Your porch views are wonderful.
