In case you didn't know it, deer love pumpkins. I now make it a point to put my pumpkins out for them when I take down my fall displays. I was ready with the camera today and got some shots of this little spike enjoying his pre-Thanksgiving treat...
He must have liked it the way he is licking his lips.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as he enjoyed the pumpkin.
That's cool! I've never seen a deer eating a pumpkin! Never would have put the two together.

ReplyDeleteMorninmg Bonnie, thanks for making my day.....loved the pictures of the deer eating the pumpkin, great!!!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteLooks about like the goats when they get pumpkin! I'm sure they appreciate it, and the raw seeds are good anti-parasitics. :-)
ReplyDeleteIs he beautiful. A real treat for him no doubt. It makes me wonder how they find enough to eat in the winter.
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you treat the deer, I miss living where they are - we live on a busy corner and they are not here if they are wise.
ReplyDeleteI save the pumpkin seeds for the squirrels, they are fun to watch (they drive my dogs nutso).
I love the colors in the photographs, the gray all around and then just the orange of the pumpkin. I wish I had some deer to feed my pumpkins to my chickens just look at me like I am nuts. Like " you expect me to eat that?"
ReplyDeleteIt really is so pretty.
Good to the last drop! lol! Almost looks like he playing with it! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI did not know that! Must dig the pumpkins out of the compost and put them somewhere visible.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Bonnie! Love this post! Happy Thanksgiving.

This series of photos are delightful. He is smacking his lips! I feel like helping him with his feeding - imagine eating without the use of paws unlike dogs.
