Yesterday was really cool and cloudy. A nice respite from the hot days we have had. We took advantage of the weather and dug out behind the greenhouse for additional garden space. Again we used the recycled posts from a highway project. Though it doesn't look level in this top photo; I promise it is level. I even rechecked after taking the photo. Now I just need some fill dirt.
The next project involved some cow waterers used on dairy farms that Kelly's parents gave us. I was determined to use them for something. Volia a bird bath/peanut feeder combo.
Last but not least, I thought I'd show some photos of my giant tomatoes. I got these heirloom seeds from High Country Gardens and are they something else. Also the pumpkins are on the run again. I just harvested the chamomile from the planter in front for tea.
So much for a quiet relaxing weekend. Hope your weekend was as productive. I think I'm taking some lemonade to the porch.
Those water bowls look familiar...they're the same kind we have in our barn! (although as they get replaced, the new ones are now plastic)
ReplyDeleteYour greenhouse plants sure are thriving!! I also like the look of those new garden beds. I like how raised beds usually look so tidy. My yard quickly grows into my garden each year.
Wow! It seems like it was not that long ago that you couldn't get to your greenhouse because of the snow. Now look at it! I just love everything in this post, the cow waterers, the new beds, all good!
ReplyDeleteI'll bring the cookies! Your garden is just unbelievable and I can just taste how good those tomatoes will be (a tomato sandwich, please!) XOXO
ReplyDeleteLove your projects and your resourceful way to use something totally unrelated for its intended purpose to something really cool.
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks like your plants are going to burst the greenhouse! How exciting! I love what you did with the old farm bowls, what unique bird bath and feeder you now have!
ReplyDeleteYour greenhouse is so nice. Your referral to "cool" weather makes me jealous! It's been so hot and dry here.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Beth
Wo0w you have some nice tomatoes. I get seed from Tomato Growers in FL.Lots a varieties to try.I planted peppers in the raised beds like you have and they are doing good.
ReplyDeleteYour greenhouse is gorgeous! So full of life!
ReplyDeleteWhat an Ingenious idea to utilise the old cattle waterers, I love it
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great. It amazes me how green your thumb must be, every thing is huge.
ReplyDeleteI think I would sit on the porch too. :)
Looks like PARADISE!!! Love the waterer-peanut feeders. I especially like how you mounted them on a post. Now I am going to be on the search for some of those to use in my garden.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the offer to visit you. I would if we were driving. Maybe next spring, God willing? This year we're so late that we have to fly east. Probably cheaper to fly with gas prices so danged high.
Sending love,
Sharon
Wow! Look at the inside of that greenhouse! Gorgeous! I'm jealous of your chamomile because I bought seeds and forgot to plant them...I wonder if it's too late...I could get out there and do it tomorrow! Let us know how the tea tastes.
ReplyDeletethe inside of your greenhouse looks like the garden of Eden! Wonderful! I love your cow feeder up cycling ideas too! You will love your new garden space? Cut flowers maybe??? :)
