Something old is new again with Saturday projects...

Yesterday was really cool and cloudy.  A nice respite from the hot days we have had.  We took advantage of the weather and dug out behind the greenhouse for additional garden space.  Again we used the recycled posts from a highway project.  Though it doesn't look level in this top photo; I promise it is level.  I even rechecked after taking the photo.  Now I just need some fill dirt.

The next project involved some cow waterers used on dairy farms that Kelly's parents gave us.  I was determined to use them for something.  Volia a bird bath/peanut feeder combo.

Last but not least, I thought I'd show some photos of my giant tomatoes.  I got these heirloom seeds from High Country Gardens and are they something else.  Also the pumpkins are on the run again.  I just harvested the chamomile from the planter in front for tea.

So much for a quiet relaxing weekend.  Hope your weekend was as productive.  I think I'm taking some lemonade to the porch.

  1. Those water bowls look familiar...they're the same kind we have in our barn! (although as they get replaced, the new ones are now plastic)

Your greenhouse plants sure are thriving!! I also like the look of those new garden beds. I like how raised beds usually look so tidy. My yard quickly grows into my garden each year.

  2. Wow! It seems like it was not that long ago that you couldn't get to your greenhouse because of the snow. Now look at it! I just love everything in this post, the cow waterers, the new beds, all good!

  11. Looks like PARADISE!!! Love the waterer-peanut feeders. I especially like how you mounted them on a post. Now I am going to be on the search for some of those to use in my garden.

Thanks so much for the offer to visit you. I would if we were driving. Maybe next spring, God willing? This year we're so late that we have to fly east. Probably cheaper to fly with gas prices so danged high.

    Sending love,

    Sharon

  12. Wow! Look at the inside of that greenhouse! Gorgeous! I'm jealous of your chamomile because I bought seeds and forgot to plant them...I wonder if it's too late...I could get out there and do it tomorrow! Let us know how the tea tastes.
