I wish I was on the porch..

Despite the heat my vegetable garden is doing great. The corn, beans, onions, garlic, pumpkins, and cucumbers are making progress.

We have been super busy here. Between seeing old friends and staining a barn we are exhausted.

My nieces will be here tomorrow and we are looking forward to a fun filled week.

Despite my neglect my flowers are blooming. I have a few shots to share.

I have a few more hummingbird photos.

She makes me tired just looking at pictures of her.

Well, I have things to do to get things ready for the little ones. Hope everyone is enjoying family time this summer.

I just put some cukes ,onion and toamtoe on marinade.Sat and enjoyed the hummers last night, I have a lot of feeders.

Your garden and flowers look gorgeous! I have a question since I think you are also in a higher elevation, colder climate. Do you have a certain date or time when you plant your corn? Or do you start it inside? I've heard of folks doing that but don't think it's very common.

A young girl was walking along a beach which thousands of starfish had washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement. She was doing this for some time when a man approached and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” The girl was crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled back into the ocean. She looked up at the man and replied, "I made a diffence to that one." Soon the man and the other people on the beach helped her. All of the starfish were saved.
