Transitions...

Well, fall is working its way into winter.  We had our first snow and currently it is drizzling, which will become additional snow tonight.  The chipmunks are hurriedly cleaning up below the feeders.  I've planted my garlic, dug up my gladiolas, and pulled up the tomatoes.

Time to start on my winter projects.  I cut out all the pieces for my new quilt this weekend.  I hate that part.  Now comes the fun, sewing it all together.  What winter projects do you have planned?

  1. Holy Moly! You have snow there already? Aaaagghh! I've never done quilting before, although I've sewed plenty of dresses (and once a silver lame tuxedo for my son's prom). Summer has actually been hanging on for dear life here, fall has yet to really make its mark, which is crazy for the PNW.

I'm planning to do some more garden art crafts this winter, like the concrete/cement stuff I did last year. Maybe I'll take a stab at doing a mosaic. I don't know for sure, but I'll blog about it.

  2. How lovely to have snow. It looks so nice. I am still in my shorts and t shirt. Hopefully this week that will change.
With a wedding here in March, I am afraid most of my projects except painting will be all I will be doing this winter.
I love your newest project and I look forward to seeing what it will be.

  13. Hi new follower,

Snow, so early in fall, I did not know that could happen. Of course your big country is very different (climate) then my little space on earth.
I can imagen that the foto's of my jars (with the olive oil)confused you and the google translate gadget is not always acurate. (very cripled English sometimes)
So if you have a question about the things I wrote or need a more proper translation (I'm not so very good with my English but maby a little bit better than google ;-), just sent me an email!

  14. Oh my!! I don't like looking at these snow pictures from different people. We just had our first frost this past week. I am not ready for snow yet. Although in Ohio it is not uncommon to be trick or treating in the snow!!

  15. Snow already? Wow! I love the little chipmunk! I would love to make a quilt, but unfortunately, I am horrible at sewing. I'm looking forward to seeing your quilting progress.
    Have a great weekend,

  16. You got a good little snow there! We had flurries, but nothing stuck. I'm planning to make some mittens this winter with felted wool sweaters. I've been stitching up some toddler pants for one of the grandgirls who is tall and slim and hard to fit. Fun. Quilting sounds good!
