What is in the dark...

We took our game camera down for awhile.  I was tired of deleting tons of photos of does.  Our neighbor just put his up.  I'm afraid his camera did not ease my mind as to what is out there in the dark.
This is obviously a young lion.

This is the older and now quite fat lion we have seen on our camera.

This little girl is not going out in the dark unattended.

  1. I know some people a few miles from me that caught a big cat on their camera too. Kind of makes me nervous.

  3. Lions so close to home.....I can see the danger.
Here there are no animals to be scared of. Not one!
No snakes, no spiders that could harm you, nothing.
    But.....no excitement either ;-)

  5. I don't think I would want to go out alone at night. Here we only have the occasional howling fox to worry about.

  6. Wow I don't think we have any of those in our bush. Be careful you and your girl. B

  9. I don't blame you. I'm sure those cats would have no qualms about attacking your dog. It's cool to have trail cam photos of them, but I'm sure you'd rather they weren't around at all.

  10. Oh, wow. The big cats would make me nervous, too! My dogs are pint-sized and would make a quick snack for your nighttime visitors.

I loved the weight scale and crates in your previous post, you have such a beautiful home.

  12. They like the deer best for dinner, so will stick around.Saw a dog like yours at the store today and had fun talking to her and petting her.

  14. Oh my that would be scary. I've a friend that lives in the country here in the PNW and usually has deer in her yard but now it's a big cat visiting.
    Your dog is a beauty.

  16. How scary to have these predators on the prowl in the vicinity. They sense food in whatever form!!!? Be careful.

  18. Lucky there are no Mountain Lions in our area (closest sighting is over 200 miles away) but we do have lots of wolves and coyotes and a few bears in the area. Keep that girl of yours safe and sound, she is gorgeous.

  19. Be careful! A couple of weeks ago, a mountain lion was in someone's yard in the city of Des Moines, Iowa, in broad daylight. It had been spotted earlier but animal control were not able to locate it. Then a man saw it near his greenhouse. The lions are moving, following where there are deer. Take care!

  20. We have the big cats here too, we call them cougar, some call them mountain lion, all the same, they are dangerous if hungry enough. We have seen a black tipped tan like yours, but just up the road a black one has been spotted for years. Just be careful out there. We are visitors living among their native homes.
    Blessings
