I have painted everything I can paint...

We live in a log cabin and I am a true believer that nature is the greatest artist.  Therefore, we don't have a lot of sheetrock.  Three bathrooms and that is it.  After 16 years, it was time to repaint.    I did the upstairs bathroom a few weeks ago.  This weekend I did the main bathroom.  Here are a few before photos.

I almost forgot to take before photos.  I also failed to include a photo of the shower curtain.  Some people didn't like my blue, but loved it.  It was bright and cheerful.  It didn't feel cold.  Instead it felt like the sky on a sunny day.  Still, it was time for a change.  Picking colors wasn't easy.

My goal was warm colors.  I won't lie, I was sad to see my blue go.  I used vinegar and water to remove the wall paper border.  I am happy with the final results.  It is cozy and inviting. The shower curtain is the same.  Amazingly it matches both the blue and the spice.

That was my weekend project.  I was done earlier than expected.  I guess I will have to try and relax tomorrow.  Shoveling should keep me active.  It is snowing again and we have about six inches.

I'm running out of projects to keep me busy. I still need to finish the picnic basket, make curtains for the bathroom, and maybe a quilt for the guest bedroom.  Sounds like a trip to the fabric store.

What do you have left on your winter to do list?

  4. I like the new color! I'm becoming bolder in my old age...would have stuck with neutrals for many years, but lately I'm itching for some changes. Now that our taxes are DONE (!!) I can focus on my list. At the top is tearing wallpaper off our upstairs hallway, spackling and painting. It includes 12 doors, 2 windows, and feels reeeeaaallly overwhelming!

  5. I love the warmth of your new bathroom color! I haven't even started my winter to do list. I had all these indoor projects I was going to do, but haven't been able to muster any interest in them. I have been doing a lot of seed starting. Up until a few days ago we were having a very mild winter, but right now it's very cold and we have snow on the ground.

  6. I like the new "spice" color. It looks and feels warm and cabin-y to me. More snow here -- probably about 6" more. We're constantly digging our way out to get to the livestock.

  7. Choosing colours is always tricky - they never seem to match the colours on the charts!

  8. I love all of your colors. I need to finish up painting and this summer I am going to paint all of the vanities in the bathrooms. You always have such fun projects going on. I hope you have a lovely week.

  9. I'm always amazed at the difference a coat of paint can make in a room. I had a blue bathroom, too, when we moved into our home years ago. I'm afraid I'm not very imaginative and all our bathrooms are gray now, LOL.
