It is snowing again. Ella and I went on our weekly snowshoeing adventure. This time without the camera. It was a real workout.
When we returned I was excited to try something new, strawberry cocoa. We had some great strawberries in our Bountiful Basket. I am very happy with the outcome.
Strawberry Cocoa
1 1/2 c. milk
3 T. white chocolate chips
1/4 c. pureed strawberries
1/2 t. vanilla
Heat on low stirring constantly. Add vanilla after removing from the heat.
After making my winter treat, I settled into my chair, wrapped up in a blanket, and reviewed gardening magazines. Dreaming away the winter.
Meanwhile, Ella dreamed of chasing pine cones.
I hope everyone else has found a way to pass the winter time. Only three more months.

That strawberry cocoa sounds amazing! We have had very cold temps and a lot of snow as well, but I think you have had more!:)
ReplyDeleteYep - I'm kinda ready for it to be over as well. March 20 marks the first day of spring, but realistically in the U.P. I have until May 1st. We have our snowshoe trail so packed that I make the journey with just snowboots. Of course Ripley ventures off the 'beaten path' and comes home looking like a poodle with snowballs sticking to his beard and coat. Quilting up a storm--- Quilt Storms are better than snow storms, right?
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds delicious and Ella is so adorable. The winter seems long but I am keeping busy and spring will come right?:) Hug B
ReplyDeleteNow, strawberry cocoa would definitely put me in the mood for summer. Sending you wishes too for this white stuff to disappear, XOXO
ReplyDeleteSoon it will be spring, then you can stay outside. All day. :) I was going to draw out a garden patten yesterday but didn't get to it. I am starting to get ready to get things ready but I know it is still too soon. I am also afraid when I get like this I will buy way too many seeds. Your strawberry cocoa sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe snow really wears out my pups. Looks like you are finding some spring treasures in the catalogs.
ReplyDeletei don't mind winter, i actually enjoy it. i have been cleaning and organizing my nest. catching up on lots of crafts and projects.....keeping very busy!! we have also taken a fe day trips, if you bundle up, it's actually fun to be outdoors. for me anyway.
ReplyDeletetry floating a "peep" in your hot cocco, it's amazing and super fun to look at. they are not just for easter and they have lot's of fun winter/christmas ones!!
I'm looking forward to Spring. We haven't had snow yet here in England.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
Hmmm...I prefer chocolate, but Jenna would love that strawberry cocoa! I just might have to try that...maybe tomorrow? Looks like another snow day is in the works. Only 35 days 'til spring!!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best looking cup of coco ~
ReplyDeletecoco, strawberry and a marshmallow .
YUM I must try that !
Three more months of winter?. . . I was hoping for only one or two.
ReplyDeleteHasn't this winter been a cold one~
ReplyDeleteI wanted to dig a snow tunnel with the Grandloves today but under the fluffy stuff that's fallen all day, and continues still, is mound after mound of ice. This is a first for us, not being able to tunnel... :-( makes me sad.
I will have to try your luscious looking cocoa. I can almost smell it like fresh picked strawberries.
After skiing or snowshoeing, a mug of cocoa is just the thing, isn't it? I love the strawberry recipe, this sounds delicious. I love your lampshade, too!
